LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS

All MARINERS, SHIP OWNERS, FISHERMEN, YACHTSMEN, RNLI, GARDA WATER UNIT, IRISH NAVAL SERVICE, IRISH COAST GUARD, IRISH WATER SAFETY, CIVIL DEFENCE, GALWAY SUB AQUA CLUB, AND BOAT OWNERS.

VOLVO OCEAN RACE -

HARBOUR CONGESTION

Notice is hereby given that Galway Harbour has now reached capacity for visiting craft and for passenger/charter craft wishing to operate out of Galway for the Volvo Ocean Race Stopover.

Commercial craft will not be allowed to enter the harbour unless prior approval has been granted from the office of the Harbour Master which includes approval of plying limits. Unauthorised passenger craft will not be permitted to embark/disembark passengers from/to the harbour unless approved to do so.

Craft that have a booking of either in the Marina, the harbour quays, the swing moorings or event craft will only be allowed to operate from the harbour or swing moorings area.

All craft are welcome to enjoy the In-Port & Pro-Am Racing in the bay off Salthill on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st May 2009.
