Ocean Youth Trust Ireland is dedicated to providing the young people of Ireland, from all walks of life and backgrounds, the opportunity to participate in the unique experience that is Sail Training.

Sailing as part of a crew on board their 70ft ocean going vessel The Lord Rank opens up a world of adventure, of teamwork, of responsibility, of learning, of self confidence and fun. The OYTI aim to empower and support young people to succeed.


This initiative was developed due to the universal recognition that engaging young people on extended and challenging sailing voyages provides an opportunity to develop valuable life skills that they might not otherwise have the chance to experience

Ocean Youth Trust Ireland is raffling two places on their 70ft Tall Ship the Lord Rank to sail from Galway for Cork this Saturday June 6. From the 6-13 June the winners will have the opportunity to learn the ropes on board Ireland's most prestigious sail-training vessel as it follows the route of the Volvo Ocean fleet to Cobh in Co Cork. Furthermore, the winner will receive a Green Dragon T-shirt signed by the crew.

Members of the OYTI will be selling raffle tickets in the Galway Volvo Ocean Race Village on Wednesday June 3 until 4pm on Thursday June 4.

Tickets cost €5 or €20 for a line.
